Cary NC - Real Estate Blog. Summer is only days away, and local events are popping up as quickly as I can research them!

The Town of Cary's Annual "Dog Days of June" festival, adored by canines and owners like, will be held this Saturday, June 5th from 9am to 2pm at Field #4 in Fred G. Bond Metro Park off of Cary Parkway. The Town of Cary holds this event to unite local dog lovers and encourage dog health and safety. Rabies vaccinations, micro-chipping, and a variety of free events for the dogs and owners will be offered. Rabies vaccines and micro-chipping will be held from 9am until 1pm- rabies vaccines are $5 per pet, and micro-chipping are $10 per pet. The staff asks that you pay in cash, as checks cannot be accepted, and also that your pet is on a leash no longer than 6 feet. There will also be a World Canine Frisbee Disc Championship competition at 10am, with registration opening 30 minutes earlier. All dogs are invited to participate regardless of lineage or experience. Each participant will go home with a free official frisbee while supplies last, and prizes will be awarded to the top three participants. Registration is free and required to participate. Guests will be able to check out local pet-focused booths, many with giveaways and games, pet adoption and rescue group, pet photographers and enter a charity raffle. Before heading home, the Cary Teen Council will be giving dog baths. Prices are $5 for dogs 15 lbs. or under; $7 for dogs 16-35 lbs.; and $10 for dogs over 36 lbs. Owners are encouraged to bring their own towel for drying. The vaccine and micro-chipping clinic will occur rain or shine; all other Dog Days events will be cancelled in the event of rain. The Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary has a great lineup of concerts this summer. Tickets start at as low as $20, with which you can experience the music of  classic rock bands Styx, Foreigner and Kansas, new French rock band growing exponentially in popularity, Phoenix, always fun Counting Crows featuring Augustana, the passionate 2010 Soul Picnic, the classic work of Shakespeare Twelfth Night featuring the region's top actors, spirited and mellow Sheryl Crow and Colbie Caillat, rock legends REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar, humorous Garrison Keillor, soulful Foxy Family Reunion, folk artists Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and country superstars Lady Antebellum and David Nail. There's something for everyone and with such a convenient location and reasonable pricing, they're all sure to be great shows! The Koka Booth Ampthitheatre is also continuing the NC Symphony Summerfest this year, featuring concerts with Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Tiempo Libre, the film The Wizard of Oz accompanied by the symphony, Verdi, the Ahn sisters, and of course, the Independence Day spectacle complete with fireworks. Also at Koka Booth is the Movies by Moonlight series, every Thursday evening starting this Thursday, the 3rd. This year movies include favorites such as Sherlock Holmes, The Blind Side, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Casablanca, Christmas Vacation (National Lampoon), Dirty Dancing, The Sting, 2012, Taming of the Shrew, New Moon, and How to Train Your Dragon. For only $3 for adults and kids 12 and under for free, plus allowed picnic baskets, it's hard to find a better wallet-smart night out.

 

The much-awaited Raleigh Amphitheatre is on the verge of opening its gates for the first time. After completing the final touches, the amphitheatre will start its first summer season of concerts. The stage will bring popular performers such as Backstreet Boys, O.A.R, Paramore (as part of the Honda Civic Tour), Barenaked Ladies, and Heart to Raleigh. The new venue will bring lots of people to Raleigh on a regular basis and add to the already rich culture. The venue's first concert this Friday, June 4th, will be free and featuring The Connells- the same artist who kicked of Walnut Creek Amphitheatre's opening nearly 20 years ago.

 

The Triangle area is bustling with activity, with events for all to enjoy. Get your suncreen and camera, because summer is here!
