The Long and Winding Road...To Be Repaved

Cary NC - Real Estate Blog. Long-awaited and requested repairs for Cary NC thoroughfare Kildaire Farm Road scheduled to begin July 2010.

As a driver, I have had my fair share of visits to the mechanic for oil changes, tune-ups, tire rotations and alignments. As a Cary resident though, I wonder how many of the alignments needed are due to the potholes along Kildaire Farm Road. What used to be a quiet (albeit punctuated by moo's) dairy farm is now one of the most integral arteries of transportation in Cary. No matter what hour of the day, Kildaire Farm Road is bustling with activity. Inevitably, with heavy use comes wear and tear; potholes and bumps are the main culprits. Our requests haven't gone unnoticed though, and the Town of Cary has announced their plans to update the road.

Home buyers and sellers, as well as happily situated residents, of Cary NC will be relieved to hear of this progress, for Kildaire Farm Road is part of many transportation routes. Along with resurfacing, the Town of Cary is focusing on safety with designs to incorporate biking lanes and crosswalks. How, you may ask, do they plan to add bike lanes without widening the roads? The answer: they aren't widening the roads. The existing four lane road will become a three lane road, with the center lane designated for turning. The four mile stretch of road from Walnut Street to Byrum Road will be adjusted for safer traffic patterns as well. Weather permitting, all work should be completed by September 2010.
