Cary NC - Real Estate Blog.    After extremely high morning demand, the Town of Cary is reminding its water customers in Cary, Morrisville, and the Wake County portion of the Research Triangle Park to follow the year-round alternate day watering rules and to hold irrigation to one inch per week, including rainfall. By 8:30 a.m., the Cary-Apex Water Treatment Plant had pumped 10 million gallons of treated water into the system, which is as much as 30 percent more than might be seen during that same period on a typical summer day.

"Even though we have plenty of water in Jordan Lake right now and the treatment plant is fully operational, we have to be mindful of how much and how quickly water is being used, which is why we want to alert our customers to the situation," said Town of Cary Utilities Director Jamie Revels.

Water customers with odd-numbered street addresses can water outdoors using automated devices such as sprinklers and irrigation systems only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Customers with even-numbered street addresses may water outdoors using sprinklers and irrigation systems only on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. No one may use outdoor automated devices--including sprinklers--on Mondays. Hand-watering and using drip irrigation is okay any day of the week.
